The unforgettable Larry T Hill is a Sri-Lankan Australian who blurs the lines between hip hop, spoken word and comedy. He has successfully crowdfunded flim clips and music equipment to the tune of $5000+ and is the only person known to have migrated from Australia to Sri Lanka on a boat this century! Nowhere is safe from Larry’s loops: he has performed on ships, in street shows, dodgy warehouses, theaters, fashion launches, literary festivals, under the Sydney Harbour Bridge, public libraries, on early morning TV shows, along the coast of Sri Lanka and the deserts festivals of Australia. During his ‘reverse migration’ stint in Sri Lanka, he co-founded a popular trilingual, crowdfunded gig – Kacha Kacha – which was held in local city pubs. He also established an open mic night and a series of catamaran boat parties at Hangtime Hostel Weligama, and held residencies at the renowned coastal spots Dots Bay House and Siam View.

Away from the stage, his work on looping playshops has seen him inspire a batch of young loopers with  apps which can be utilized in their bedrooms: a cost-effective alternative to expensive performance hardware. He has worked in Sri Lanka and Australia for prestigious institutions and outreach projects, providing music therapy and remote indigenous artist development. Moreover, he has enriched rural communities, engaged students with learning difficulties and facilitated mutual exchange between artists and less privileged members of the community.

He has appeared in and produced campaigns for Sri Lanka brands, LGBT Rights group Equal
, review site, transport app PickMe and most recently the upcycled bag label: Rice and Carry
After writing the tunes during his six month voyage, developing live looping recording techniques for several years, completing recording sessions in Sydney, Colombo and Bangalore, he is now gearing up to unleash Diasperado for the world’s ears.
